Finally. I now self-host email, calendar, photos, notes, my own CA, DNS, a Git forge, a Mastodon instance with 0 followers, and a status page that monitors all of it. The status page is the only thing anyone visits. It's down right now. I'll fix it after I finish this comment. I will not finish this comment.
My emails go straight to everyone's spam folder, yes, but that's a Big Email conspiracy to punish the sovereign, not a config issue. I've appealed to Gmail by emailing them. It went to spam.
Correct. Total privacy. Not a single byte read by a third party, or a first party, or me. This is the most secure email setup possible. It is functionally /dev/null and I have never felt safer.
